Learning is ALWAYS fun!

We understand that starting something new can be a little intimidating, which is why our class is designed to make everyone feel welcome and included.

Our classes are led by a friendly and experienced instructors who know just how to bring out the best in each child. Beginner students will start with some games and warm-up exercises to get our bodies moving and energized.

As we move on to the actual class, we start with some basic steps that are easy to follow. Our instructor breaks them down into simple movements,so everyone can learn at their own pace. We also use music that is upbeat and catchy, making it easy for everyone to follow along and have fun. Students are encouraged to help and demonstrate for those who may be newer.

Throughout the class, we encourage creativity and self-expression. We believe that every child has their own unique style and we encourage them to let it shine through. We also include some fun partner activities, which help to build teamwork and communication skills.

At the end of the class, we try to have a mini-performance where everyone can show off their new skills. This is a chance for the children to feel proud of what they have accomplished, and to share it with their classmates and families.

Our children's group class is a safe and inclusive space where everyone can feel comfortable to be themselves. Whether your child is a natural born dancer or a little hesitant at first, we are confident that they will leave our class feeling confident and empowered. So come on, let's dance and have some fun!

CLASS PLACEMENT

CLASS LEVELS are divided into levels based on a student’s ability, not necessarily by age.  We divide our levels into three categories; Beginning/ Intermediate /Advanced.

Unlike grade levels in school, students do not necessarily move to the next level each year. We have a great deal of curriculum to cover in each level and we want to make sure that the student is comfortable, strong, confident and technically correct before moving up. Some students may take a Level for a couple of years, others may move through a Level in less time. The determination is made on an individual basis by the instructor. Each student

progresses at his or her own pace. Students advance to more challenging levels as they safely master the prerequisite skills and techniques, not specific combinations. Please be patient and encouraging with your child. Dance is an art form and cannot be rushed. We believe that it is important for a student to be placed appropriately so that he/she can

get the most out of the class. Our instructors take a personal interest in each student and closely monitor the progress to maximize the benefits of their dance training. Initial student evaluation involves determining a student’s present ability in light of previous dance experience, individual skill and muscle development.

LOST ITEMS

Please label all belongings. All valuables should be taken into the classroom with you. The studio cannot be held responsible for lost items.

TARDINESS

All students are expected to arrive on time and in the appropriate attire. We understand that circumstances may delay you, sometimes. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to sit and watch the class. Classes are designed to warm up muscles slowly and properly. Jumping into a class that has already started may cause injury. If you are tardy, please see the instructor, apologize for your late arrival and ask him/her whether you can join the class or watch. Please respect your instructor’s decision in this matter; they are only looking out for the student’s best interest.

HEALTH

We encourage a healthy lifestyle. We believe that dancers are athletes and should treat their bodies accordingly. Please encourage your child to eat healthy!  Please be sure your dancer gets the appropriate amount of sleep.  If a student is sick, please do not attend class as physical activity will make it worse!
